Counseling services
General Counseling provides community based, family-centered, developmentally appropriate and culturally competent counseling services.We base our counseling philosophy on the belief that all people have a natural motivation to move toward positive change and problem resolutions. We base our counseling services on the perspective of Christian morals, values and ethics. Our goal is to strengthen individuals and preserve families by providing family-centered services designed to promote the improvement of family or the individual. We seek to create a stable and nurturing environment in which individuals can grow and develop.
We are dedicated to the protection and well being of children. Our staff will work to help parents improve their parenting abilities and to help children reduce or eliminate unacceptable behaviors. We try to prevent unnecessary out-of-home placements. We recognize the importance of family to individuals, and to society, and our goal is to expedite the return of a child by promoting early reunification with the family.
Each counselor is encouraged to ask questions and to recognize that each individual is an "expert" in their own life.
